Halloween is just round the corner and this is a great excuse to dress up your pet in the cutest or scariest cat halloween costumes. Some cats are perfectly happy get dressed up and photographed. But please do not dress up your pet if they do not like it.
After all everyone has seen video of cats dressed in shark costumes riding around on roombas. I cannot dress up Dyson as she does not like it. However, I do have a T-Rex costume ready for Callie. She is going to be the scariest kitten around.
If you have a cat that believes it is actually king (or queen) of the jungle then a lion costume will give them a regal edge. Well not really but it is extremely cute as your cat will get a large mane. Not only that but when you buy this funny cat costume a portion of the price goes toward multiple animal shelters in New Orleans.
What could be better than that? You are helping shelter cats whilst embarrassing your own cat.
You can get the Lion cat costume from Amazon (and remember a portion of the purchase will go to NOLO animal shelters)
2. Pet Policeman Costume
Ever thought that your cat could go into law enforcement? Well you probably haven’t but now you can think again as we found this really cute cat policeman costume (ok yes it is for dogs as well).
It comes with a cute little hat and the body of the costume has stuffed arms and legs which you can arrange. It is very good quality and has some great details like gold braid around the hat. You have a badge decal on the hat and on the breast area. Plus it has its own little gun belt and pretend gun (not loaded).
Take a look on Amazon for the best price.
3. Cat Pirate Costume
Pirates are pretty cool for halloween and this costume is definitely amusing. Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean you can have a swashbuckling kitty. This halloween costume which you can also use at other times of the year is made from polyester and other breathable fabric.
You have a pirate hat with a skull and cross bones decal. Then you have the main body which has stuffed arms. One of the hands is also a little hook. For just a small costume there is actually quite a bit of detail and thought in the design. It is also washable unless your cat decides to rip it to shreds after the first wearing.

4. Halloween Doctor Costume
Is there a doctor in the house? Well if you are doing a themed halloween party then this doctor costume could be great for your cat. There is no hat with this costume.
Instead you have a pair of blue hospital scrubs and a white surgical coat over the top of this. Items such as the stethoscope are then drawn onto the surgical coat. You also have a small pair of stuffed arms in the surgical coat.
This is a really cute looking outfit and can be used at other times other than halloween.

5. Pumpkin halloween Costume
There is nothing more halloween than pumpkins. This cat halloween costume will make your dog or cat look just like a large pumpkin.
It is made from shorn velvet and polar fleece so is a nice comfortable material. The pumpkin is a bright orange with a cut out halloween face on it in black. You can either put up the hood or just take it down but there is a very cute green stalk on the hood.
The pumpkin cat or dog halloween costume comes in a range of sizes from XS to XXL so perfect for dogs and cats. You can use the size chart to measure your cat and then get the right size.

6. Pizza Cat and Dog Halloween Costume
This cat costume might make you feel a little hungry on Halloween as it resembles a pepperoni pizza. You get a jumpsuit which is in the shape of a pizza so it is easy to put on. The costume and stuffing are both made from 100% polyester and the foam in the crust is 100% polyurethane.
The pizza costume is washable but by hand only. It comes in sizes from small to extra large so can fit a cat or dog. Due to its shape the manufacturer recommends buying a size bigger than what you think you might need.
The Pizza cat costume is now available on Amazon ready for Halloween.
Please remember if you are going to dress up your cat in a halloween costume:
- Don’t dress your cat up if they do not like it and become stressed.
- Do not leave your cat alone whilst wearing a costume in case they become entangled.
Have a fun halloween!
Aww! These costumes are just too cute. I would love to dress my dog and cats up in complementary costumes, but I haven’t come up with anything yet. My kittens love to wrestle so I think the pirate costume would be very entertaining. My dog however, is a bit shy so I’m not sure if she will take to this very well.
The pirate costumes are super cute. My friends’ dog had two costumes for his dogs – one was a tuxedo and the other a superman costume. Surprisingly his really shy dog actually loved being dressed up more than his outgoing dog
I hate to point this out to you, but none of these cats, apart from the Pizza cat look thrilled to be dressed up. At least the Pizza costume can double up as a blanket in winter.
Apart from that, the costumes are super cute, providing you have a willing cat participant. How do you train cats to like wearing clothes?
A lot of cats can look grumpy even when they are not. If they are wagging their tails back and forth very fast then you know they are irritated.
If your cat does not like wearing clothes then don’t try to put clothes on them. Some cats are perfectly fine and most of these clothes dont go over the legs. With my kitten she is trained to a harness so is fine being dressed up. I started training with a harness pretty early and just placed it over her at first without putting on.
